Abstract

The choice of tactics and timing of orthodontic treatment in cases of missing of upper lateral incisors remains an urgent problem in contemporary dentistry. The decision about treatment of this anomaly due to mesialization of canines or conversely their distal movement with the aim of opening place for the second teeth should be made taking into account its impact on the future relationship of the jaws, functional features, as well as facial macro and micro-aesthetics. Proceeding vertical growth must be synchronized with the timing of placement of dental implants.

Taking into account the functional and aesthetic features of the masticatory system in treatment of missing of upper lateral incisors is an important element in achieving of more effective and stabile results.
