Abstract

Disclusion Time is defined as the duration of the time that working and non- working molars and premolars are in contact during a mandibular excursive movement. ICAGD is a measurement driven, computer-guided, occlusal adjustment procedure that shortens prolonged excursive movement on occlusal contacts that in turn causes friction. Dr. Ankit’s presentation discusses the results of his study on effect of Disclusion Time reduction (DTR) protocols on the myotrajectory in symptomatic TMD patients. The main objective of ICAGD is to shorten the disclusion time to < 0.5 seconds in all three excursions, to compress the excursively engaged teeth and their respective Periodontal Ligament fibers, for far less time than in the pretreatment condition. This leads to less muscle fatigue leading to improvement in Jaw trajectory. This study shows the results of 30 patients before and after their DTR procedure where the habitual trajectory matches their ULF_Tens induced myotrajectory post DTR.
