Abstract
For patients with periodontal disease, caries, or missing teeth, prosthetic treatment is required to reconstruct the dentition.
In such cases, the first thing to consider is whether the three-dimensional positional relationship between the upper and lower jaws is normal or whether correction is necessary.
Generally, mandibular position is diagnosed by diagnosis with an articulator or by exploring the mandibular position using a stabilization bite plane, and then an occlusion registration is taken for prosthetic treatment.
However, we neuromuscular doctors can obtain objective and accurate treatment jaw position using a Computer Mandibular Scanner and Myo-monitor, which eliminates the inaccuracies of conventional treatment and allows prosthetic treatment with good prognosis.
In this lecture, I would like to present how effective the actual neuromuscular diagnosis was in the treatment of occlusal reconstruction by comparing two cases: one in which the mandibular position appears to be displaced, causing jaw dysfunction and aesthetic disorders, and the other in which the mandibular position appears to be fine but is actually displaced.
